cape.hatteras--obx 5

We took a day while we were in the OBX to drive down to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. It was very neat to learn more about lighthouses in general, but had we gone a few days earlier we would have actually been able to climb up in it. Unfortunately they had just closed the climbing for the season...


How cool is this? Such an awesome symbol of how our lives should be to those around us. A steady light, guiding the weary traveler home.


Our local little newspaper called the 'Advertiser' does a 'Take Us Along' contest where you actually take an issue with you on your vacation and take your picture with it. We've never done it before, but decided to give it a try! Here are my three favorite pictures, but I can't decide which to submit.....which would you choose?

The day before, Eric and Wes went fishing off the pier. They brought back a great catch! On our way back from the lighthouse, we stopped and got a few pound of shrimp to add to the fish they caught for a wonderful dinner. MMMMmmmm, oven baked pompano slathered in butter and seasonings, steamed shrimp and cajun shrimp! Cheesy garlic biscuits, caesar salad and seasoned potatoes finished out the meal for a Red Lobster rival!!! Makes my mouth water just thinking about it!


So is your dinner tonight going to be THAT good?!!!
