These are no ordinary roses...........
They arrived yesterday, compliments of my beloved husband of soon to be 10 years. We needed a dozen roses for a short video we were going to be recording last night, and I was expecting the el cheapo ones from Wal-Mart or something. And he walked in with THESE!!!!! I love you babe!
This evening I was listening to "The Vocal Union" and heard the following song.....thought it was fitting (even though it took me a couple years before I even liked this song :0) )
Don't Scatter Roses
Words and music: Larue Lancaster © 1996 Anthony K. Music (ASCAP)
Lead: Keith Lancaster
Lyrics:
Don't scatter roses after I'm gone
A wreath of roses they placed on his grave
And while he was living, there were things that he craved
His life as a pauper was so very dim
He needed the flowers while he could enjoy them
Chorus:
Don't scatter roses after I'm gone
Give them to me, while I carry on
Now I need them to help me along
Don't scatter roses after I'm gone
Many times he was hungry, but you passed him by
He needed your help then, but you didn't try
To help when him needing to carry on
Now you give him flowers after he's gone?
Repeat Chorus (x2)
Don't scatter roses after I'm gone
Scriptural Reference:
"For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.' "They also will answer, `Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?'" He will reply, `I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'" Matthew 25:42-45
