Remember WAY back in June when I promised more posts of our VA trip? Well, I'm finally getting around to it! We had such a fun time watching the whole coffee roasting process. It really is neato and boy-howdy does it smell gooOOOooood! So here, for your viewing pleasure, it a picture documentary of the coffee roasting process!
The storage room, where all the 'green' beans are kept.
Burlap bags full of some of the BEST coffee....Guatemala Antigua no less!
Now don'tcha just love those curtains?!
Scooping the 'green' beans to take out to the roasting shed.
Dumping them in....
Listening for the 'second crack'--it goes through a couple of stages and sounds about like popcorn popping when it's going through 'crack'!
All cool and ready to set in a storage bin and release the gases before being packaged up---yep, you're not the only one to 'release a little gas'!
There you have it! Now go brew yourself a proper cup of coffee! Or better yet, ORDER your fresh roasted coffee from Love Cups! Raymond would be glad to 'roast ya up a batch'!
