I found some fabric to go with it and it laid around for, well, until tonight. Despite the fact that I have a ton of things to do before we head to the OBX this weekend, I got the crazy notion in my head to try and get it done today.
A couple hours later, with multiple interruptions such as stopping for supper, bathing the kids, getting them in bed, phone calls, etc, I now have THIS!
The sash is not attached, just pinned in place for the picture--hence the unevenness. Although, the empire waistline does curve up in the middle... I'm really liking it!
Thanks to a great friend for getting my creative bug going today! (you know who you are :0) )
Oh, and just in case the question enters your mind....NO, it is not a maternity dress!!!

cute! are you going to attach the sash somehow? I like the black in all three places...it ties it all together.
And...i don't think it looks maternityish....but i guess it would work for awhile if you needed it!
